Apples (deseeded) are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants.

Why are apples good for my pet?

Apples are often one of the most important food sources of flavonoids, which are often referred to as antioxidants, and are essential for good health, immunity, and longevity.

Feeding your dog apples can reduce the chance of bone disease, boost your dog’s immune system, improve skin condition, and even help prevent the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

When dogs are sick or stressed, they can rapidly deplete their bodies’ output of vitamin C. Studies have shown that when a dog's diet (as well as humans) is supplemented with vitamin C, they show greater resistance to disease, and a better ability to recover from injuries or illness.

Benefits of apples:

  • Provides dietary fiber
  • Maintains healthy bones and tissues
  • Boosts your pet's immune system
  • Reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease

Provides dietary fiber.
  • Apples are high in dietary fiber, which will benefit their digestive system and help keep them regular. Adding fiber to a diet improves colon health, helps with weight management, and helps with diarrhea, constipation, and diabetes (slows the rate that sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream).

Maintains healthy bones and tissues.
  • Apples are packed with vitamin C which is essential for maintaining healthy bones and tissue. Apples contain a number of phytonutrients that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which may promote bone density and strength. Antioxidants also help fight joint disease and other similar degenerative conditions and diseases.

Boost your pet's immune system.
  • Vitamin C can help boost your pet's immune system and prevent them from getting sick. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant. It scavenges potentially harmful free radicals in the body and can help reduce inflammation and cognitive aging.

Reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • Potassium is most notably responsible for providing healthy heart functioning. Low levels of potassium in the diet can cause calcification and stiffness of arteries and has also been linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke in people.
